Electric Railcar Class mDDM
These railcars entered service on the
NS network in 1985, and were meant to replace the previous double decked rolling
stock E 1700. The acronym mDDM means "powered double-deck units ". Their power
is limited to 2,340kW, which makes them suitable only for hauling light trains
over short distances.
