Steam locomotive class 1-3-0 Gr. 625

 
Steam locomotive Gr 625 of the FS for use on passenger service.
The group of 625 locomotives, with wheel alignment 1-3-0, these engines were ideal for the allocated service, particularly on the more rugged lines, and on local and regional services, where requirements to maintain appreciable commercial speeds, quick start ups and sustained consistency of good power during steep gradients, were the demanded requirements. In 1923 the group comprised of 188 units the last of which, built in 1921 in Berlin at the Schwartzkopf engine works, as war compensation, these units were equipped with  Knorr preheaters on the water inlet. A number of locomotives also has "Caprotti” valve distribution system, the others adopted  " Walschaert”  gearing.

The model represents the prototype gr 625 321 with Caprotti distribution and tender with 12 m 'of water and 6 tons of coal, operating front lanterns. The braking equipment has also been faithfully reproduced.

This  model represents the prototype gr 625 032 with "Walschaerts “ distribution and a three axled tender with 12 m3 of water and 6 tons of coal, operating front lanterns, faithfully reproduced brake equipment , the tender carries the motor and transmission via cardanic half joints to the driving wheels of the actual locomotive. The paintwork of the models is also faithful to the original.
